Digital Desk: Staying fit and
healthy has become a priority in practically everyone's life. While many people
use diets to stay fit, others choose physical activities such as going to the
gym or practising yoga.
Though remaining fit
can be tough at times due to a demanding schedule, implementing some simple
lifestyle modifications can also help you stay fit and healthy.
Dr. Dixa Bhavsar
Savaliya, an Ayurvedic doctor, recently took to Instagram and offered certain
lifestyle modifications to make in order to stay healthy and active. She wrote,
"Avoid these habits to stay Healthy."
Lifestyle Changes to Stay Healthy
Eating without Feeling Hungry/ Appetite - Hunger indicates
that your previous meal was well digested. You overburden your liver when you
consume without appetite. The most important guideline to remember is to eat
only when you are hungry. Eating without hunger might upset your stomach and
slow your metabolism.
Sleeping
post-Midnight - By 10 p.m., it is best to go to bed. Because 10 p.m. to 2
a.m. is pitta dominating time, your metabolism is at its highest. Stopping
eating at 7-7:30 p.m. and going to bed early allows your digestive fire to
digest everything you've eaten all day and allows for optimal liver detox,
which helps you maintain your weight, sugar levels, energy, and, most
importantly, your body's ability to absorb nutrition from the food you eat.
Sleeping after midnight reduces the quality of your sleep and disrupts your
circadian rhythm, causing mental disorders, vitamin deficiencies, poor gut
health, and other problems.

sunset, and no later than 8 p.m. Late dinners, especially those after 9 p.m.,
might disrupt your metabolism, liver detox, and even your sleep. Over time, it
can lead to diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, and heart problems.
Multitasking - Multitasking raises extra cortisol (stress hormone) in the
body, making you more susceptible to auto-immune and lifestyle illnesses. Doing
one task at a time deliberately boosts your productivity, reduces stress, and
leaves you feeling more pleased and tranquil at the end of the day.
Exercising more than your
capacity - Exercising over your limits might tyre you and
cause blood issues, dysonoea, cough, fever, excessive thirst, and even
vomiting. In the chilly season, one should exercise at half strength. Sweating
on the forehead, hands, and thighs indicates this. Excessive exertion beyond
our bodies' capacity without a nutritious diet might result in significant Vata
aggravation, tissue loss, and poor agni. So moderation is essential.
