Not wearing sunscreen

"Also, reapplying sunscreen every 2-3 hours is recommended as the effect of the sunscreen begins to wear off, especially if you are out in the sun for longer periods of time," said Dr Rashmi Shetty, Global Dermatology Expert and Founder of Ra Skin & Aesthetics.
Not using moisturiser
Just because there is humidity in the air does not excuse you from using moisturiser. Even if you feel a little oilier during the summer, make sure to keep your skin hydrated. Because a lack of moisture can cause excessive sebum production and acne breakouts, it is best to cleanse the skin first and then apply a hydrating moisturiser containing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to lock the water content in the skin, keeping it plump and soft.
However, according to Dr. Shetty, there are numerous sunscreens on the market that are fortified with calming agents and antioxidants that also help with moisturising.
No exfoliation
Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells and dirt from the skin's surface. This aids in the discovery of new cells and improves overall complexion. Dead skin cells must be removed or else they will clog pores. So, remember to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis, especially at night, because your skin may be sensitive and susceptible to sunburn during the day. However, before beginning any exfoliating ingredient, such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or even mandelic acid, consult a dermatologist.
When exfoliating, the expert recommends three things: make sure the granules in your exfoliator are light, round, and small so they aren't too harsh on the skin, use a creamier exfoliator, and exfoliate at least once a week.
Putting heavy makeup
Wearing heavy makeup as sun protection is not a good idea if you're going outside. Multiple layers of foundation, concealer, and blush can clog pores and cause congested skin. Instead, experts recommend using a tinted sunscreen that also serves as a concealer and shields the face from harmful radiation. You can also use a BB cream, which is lightweight and provides a natural finish.
Not drinking enough water:
Hydration is essential for healthy skin. Furthermore, topical ingredients, 8 glasses of water, and seasonal fruits are all natural ways to stay hydrated. Overhydration, on the other hand, can result in a "loss of minerals, vitamins, and other micronutrients," according to Dr. Shetty.
"One can consider some prescriptive supplementation to keep the skin protected from the inside," the dermatologist concluded. Aside from that, some common practises to avoid skin damage include wearing a large rimmed hat, wearing lighter fabrics, and wearing a large pair of sunglasses."
