Digital desk: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, came under fire from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday for issuing his second directive from the custody of the Enforcement Directorate, claiming he doesn't want to quit due to his insecurity.

BJP leader Dr. Harshvardhan called on Kejriwal to quit as chief minister on moral grounds, claiming that his decision to continue serving as chief minister of Delhi despite his arrest was evidence of his greed.

Dr. Harshvardhan said, "Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is in jail. Therefore, he should resign morally and give his responsibility to someone else. Arvind Kejriwal still holding his position shows that he is greedy and does not want to leave his chair because of his insecurity."

According to BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the chief minister is unable to provide orders while jailed.

"A chief minister cannot issue any direction from the jail. This is a drama. I have complained about this to the L-G, demanding strict action against them," he stated.

Arvind Kejriwal issued his first executive order while he was in detention on Sunday.

The Enforcement Directorate will investigate the legitimacy of such orders, according to a PTI report. It will determine whether the orders comply with the special court's order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Niharika Rai, the secretary of planning for the Delhi government, stated that Arvind Kejriwal's incarceration had no bearing on public services.

Social welfare programs, public services, and subsidies are unaffected by the CM's detention. All present government-funded social welfare programs and public service initiatives in the National Capital Territory of Delhi will remain in place. In this regard, she stated in a press release that "people should not be misled by any fear-mongering and malicious disinformation."
