Digital Desk: The second and final phase of the Chhattisgarh elections has commenced with voting for all 70 seats.
State Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his deputy TS Singh Deo will find out their destinies in the elections for the remaining 70 seats in the state assembly. It should be mentioned that 958 candidates are vying for the seats.
However, voting begins at 7 a.m. for the nine polling booths in a Naxal-infested area.
According to the Election Commission of India, an approximate voter turnout of 5.71 percent was registered in the second and final phase of voting in Chhattisgarh until 9 a.m.
Meanwhile, the BJP issued its platform for the Rajasthan assembly elections on Thursday, offering LPG cylinder subsidies for Ujjwala scheme recipients and 2.5 lakh government employment.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has urged citizens to vote in the state's second and final phase of elections.
"Every vote you cast will ensure Chhattisgarh's victory," he stated. I implore you all to leave your homes and vote. Chhattisgarh is victorious."
According to a poll watchdog report, 100 of the candidates running in Phase 2 are facing criminal charges.
At least 100 of the 953 candidates running in the second phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections have criminal complaints filed against them, with 56 facing serious charges of voluntarily inflicting harm, cheating, and criminal intimidation.
According to a report released on November 10 by Chhattisgarh Election Watch and the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), out of 953 candidates examined, 100 (10%) had declared criminal cases against themselves.
A total of 958 candidates will compete in the second round of Chhattisgarh elections, but the report did not evaluate five of them since their affidavits were either poorly scanned or complete affidavits were not uploaded to the Election Commission of India's website, according to a PTI report.
