Earlier, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked five questions to the BJP-led Central government after 175 days since ethnic violence erupted in Manipur.

Using the social media platform X, Ramesh addressed five questions to the Centre, specifically to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on the government's handling of the Manipur problem.

Here are the queries raised by Jairam Ramesh-

    1. Why hasn't the Prime Minister met with Manipur's CM and elected MLAs, the vast majority of whom belong to his party or are allies of his party?

    2. Why has the Union Minister of State for External Affairs, who represents Manipur (Inner) in the Lok Sabha, been unable to meet with the Prime Minister?

    3. Why has the Prime Minister, who speaks on everything, not found fit to speak publicly about Manipur for more than 4-5 minutes at most, let alone regularly and under enormous pressure from the Opposition?

    4. Why has the Prime Minister, who loves to travel not felt right to spend even a few hours in Manipur to express his concern?

    5. Why is the CM, who is widely despised across Manipur's society, still in office?

However, BJP sources did not provide any specific reason for Modi's cancellation of his visit to Mizoram.
