The results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, which have recently completed 3rd phase, will be announced on June 4.
Digital Desk: The intense campaigning for Phase 4 of the Lok Sabha elections wrapped up on Saturday ahead of voting in 96 constituencies. In this phase, a staggering 1,717 candidates representing 10 States and UTs are preparing for the election fight. Phase 4 voting is scheduled on May 13.
Here is a preview of the main contests and prominent contenders:
Baharampur: The Congress, BJP, and TMC are fighting a bloody battle in Baharampur. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the president of the West Bengal Congress, is up against Dr. Nirmal Kumar Saha of the BJP and Yusuf Pathan.
Hyderabad: Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM and Madhavi Latha of the BJP square off in Hyderabad as he seeks a fifth term.
Kannauj: Akhilesh Yadav of the SP will take on Subrat Pathak of the BJP there.
Krishnanagar: Mahua Moitra of the TMC will try to hold onto her seat against Amrita Roy of the BJP. In the last election, Moitra became victorious, having overcome Kalyan Chaubey of the BJP.
Begusarai: Awadhesh Rai of the CPI faces up against Giriraj Singh of the BJP. In the 2019 elections, Singh triumphed over Kanhaiya Kumar of the CPI.
Munger: Lalan Singh of JD(U) and Anita Devi of RJD square off in Munger. In the most recent elections, Singh triumphed over Neelam Devi of the RJD.
Srinagar: Waheed Parra of the PDP faces up against NC's Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi. Currently holding the position is NC Chairman Farooq Abdullah.
Asansol: Shatrughan Sinha of the TMC is prepared to take on Surinderjeet Singh Ahluwalia of the BJP in Asansol.
