    Digital Desk: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 witnessed a commendable voter turnout across various states and Union territories, reflecting the democratic fervor and civic responsibility of the electorate. With 88 constituencies spanning 13 states and Union territories going to polls, citizens enthusiastically exercised their franchise, contributing to the democratic process.

    Tripura emerged as a frontrunner in voter participation, with its lone seat witnessing an impressive turnout of 77.93%. 

    Chhattisgarh and West Bengal followed closely, with turnout percentages of 72.13% and 71.84% respectively. 

    Manipur and Assam also displayed healthy participation, recording voter turnouts of 76.06% and 70.66% respectively.

    In Maharashtra, the voter turnout stood at 53.51%, indicating a significant level of civic engagement despite logistical challenges. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh saw modest turnouts, with Bihar recording 53.03% and Uttar Pradesh registering 52.74%.

    In Rajasthan, 13 constituencies witnessed an average turnout of 59.19%, surpassing the figures from the first phase. Madhya Pradesh reported a turnout of at least 54.83% across its six constituencies, with Hoshangabad leading at 63.44%. Karnataka recorded a turnout of 63.9%, with Mandya securing the highest turnout at 74.87%.

    Kerala, known for its high voter turnout, continued its tradition of active participation, with a provisional turnout exceeding 67.27%. Despite the official polling hours ending at 6 pm, long queues persisted outside polling booths, indicating a robust turnout. The final percentage is expected to rise further, reflecting the enthusiasm of Kerala's electorate.
