Digital Desk: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) court has ordered the filing of charges against Pakistani terrorist and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin, Kashmiri separatist leaders Yasin Malik, Shabbir Shah, Masarat Alam, Kashmiri politician and former MLA Rashid Engineer, businessman Zahoor Ahmad Shah Watali, Bitta Karate, Aftab Ahmad Shah, Avatar Ahmad Shah and several others under various sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) including criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country, unlawful activities etc in a case related o the terrorist and secessionist activities that disturbed Jammu and Kashmir.
The court said that Pakistan and its agencies contributed money for terror funding, and even the diplomatic mission was employed to carry out the nefarious plan. According to ANI, money for terror funding was also given by Hafiz Saeed, a proclaimed international terrorist and accused terrorist.
During the course of the proceedings, the NIA court noted that none of the defendants has claimed that they do not have a separatist ideology or agenda, or that they have not campaigned for or supported for the secession of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian government.
"The above analysis reflects that the statements of witnesses and documentary evidence have connected almost all the accused with each other and to a common object of secession, to the commonality of means they were to use, their close association with terrorist/terrorist organisations under the guiding hand and funding of Pakistani establishment," said NIA special Judge Praveen Singh in an order issued on March 16.
However, the court underlined that whatever is said in this order is a prima facie opinion, despite the fact that a lengthy examination of the evidence was required because both sides presented their positions in great detail.
