    Six Barrels of Countrymade bombs discovered in Birbhum village

    Following the Birbhum violence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong condemnation message and urged the State government to bring the perpetrators to justice.


    Digital Desk: Six barrels of countrymade bombs were discovered in a village in Rampurhat block number two of Birbhum. There is also speculation as to whether these bombs have any connection to the incident in Bagtui village.

    Police have been dispatched to the scene, and the anti-bomb squad has been notified.

    Eight people were recently beaten and burned alive in Birbhum Bagtui village, including three women and two children.

    According to preliminary findings of forensic experts who conducted tests on the charred bodies found inside the houses that were allegedly set on fire by unidentified people early on Tuesday, the victims were first severely beaten and then burned alive, an official from Rampurhat hospital told PTI.

    So far, at least 20 people have been arrested in connection with the incident, which is believed to have been sparked by the assassination of a local TMC leader on Monday evening, and police officers and civic volunteers have been removed for negligence.

    On Tuesday (March 22) night, a group of enraged miscreants set fire to around 12 homes in Birbhum's Rampurhat, killing eight people, including women and children.

    According to the autopsy report of the burnt bodies, the victims were beaten before being locked in their own homes and set ablaze. The heinous killings are believed to have been carried out to avenge the alleged murder of TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh.

    Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the West Bengal government and the state's police chief, requesting a report detailing the steps taken to ensure people's safety within four weeks. So far, Anarul Hossain, the TMC block president, has been arrested.

    Following the Birbhum violence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a strong condemnation message and urged the State government to bring the perpetrators to justice. The case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation by the Calcutta High Court on Friday (March 25). (CBI).
