Digital Desk: Senior BJP leader and union minister Nitin Gadkari fainted on stage on Wednesday during an electoral rally in Yavatmal, Maharashtra. Gadkari was rushed for treatment immediately.
Gadkari collapsed on stage at an electoral rally in Pusad, Yavatmal, while speaking to the crowd. His party members moved quickly, apprehending the senior leader and bringing him to the hospital.
As Nitin Gadkari was being led off the stage, a number of partygoers were observed splattering water on his face.
The minister later tweeted that the heat was making him uncomfortable, but he was fine and was headed to the next election rally in Varud.
"I felt uncomfortable due to the heat during the rally in Pusad, Maharashtra. But now I am completely healthy and am leaving for Varud to attend the next meeting. Thank you for your love and good wishes," Nitin Gadkari tweeted.
Gadkari, the BJP's candidate from Nagpur, where the first round of elections was held, was campaigning for Rajashree Patil, the leader of the Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who is the nominee of the ruling Mahayuti alliance for the Yavatmal-Washim Lok Sabha constituency.
On Friday, April 26, Yavatmal will cast ballots in the Lok Sabha election's second phase, along with the Maharashtra cities of Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani.
