Digital Desk: A 25-year-old female doctor, identified as Sujitha Kashyap, was discovered dead in her rented accommodation at Pithaguri area in Guwahati's Lokhra, as confirmed by the authorities. Dr. Kashyap, who served as an assistant professor at the Rahman Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences in Guwahati alongside her duties at Rahman Hospital, was found hanging.
The deceased Dr. Kashyap’s original home was in Pathsala, Bajali district. Local authorities, including the district magistrate and Basistha police, were alerted. Her remains were transferred to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for further investigation.
The circumstances surrounding Dr. Kashyap's demise are covered in speculation, with her family suggesting a possible connection to a love triangle. In a statement to the media, her mother revealed details of her daughter's emotional grief, particularly linked to a relationship with an individual from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. She said, “After six years in Andhra Pradesh, she moved to Assam for a career opportunity. Following the recent election, she confessed to me about her pain, claiming that the stated boy repeatedly brings up things that bother her, causing heightened emotions and impeding her ability to focus on her work."
The family suspects potential mental harassment or blackmail by the partner, though details remain unclear. Dr. Kashyap had recently secured a promising job at Nemcare Hospitals.
