Digital Desk: On Wednesday, September 20, Adidas presented the kit that the Indian cricket team will wear during next month's World Cup.
Since May 23, 2023, when the BCCI announced a multi-year deal with the sports apparel giants, India has been wearing Adidas uniforms, ushering in a new era in Indian cricket. The former kit sponsor, MPL, elected to terminate its deal, which was slated to expire in 2023. Prior to Adidas, Killer Jeans, a clothing brand, took over the kit sponsorship from MPL.
The agreement between Adidas and the BCCI is one of the largest in cricket history. Although the BCCI did not share the financial terms of the agreement, insiders close to the development said that the five-year pact was worth more than 250 crore. Reportedly, Adidas is expected to pay 65 lakh for each match played by India till March 2028.

The World Cup jersey has the same design as India's current ODI kit but with a few important alterations.

Since switching to Adidas, India has won a series in the West Indies. This was followed by their 8th Asia Cup victory last weekend when they crushed Sri Lanka in the final by 10 wickets in a completely one-sided encounter.
The upcoming challenge for India will be a three-match ODI series against Australia, which will begin on September 20.
