    Brilliance: 11-year-old Indian girl creates AI-based eye disease detection app

    Digital Desk: Ogler Eyescan is an AI-based app developed by Leena Rafeeq, an 11-year-old self-taught coder based in Dubai. The mobile app uses advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms to detect various eye diseases and conditions through a unique scanning process.

    Ogler determines the position of the eyes within the frame range using a variety of factors such as light and colour intensity, distance, and look-up points. Once the scan quality has been determined, the app uses trained models to diagnose potential eye diseases or conditions such as Arcus, Melanoma, Pterygium, and Cataract.

    Using the SwiftUI programming language, Leena created Ogler without the use of any third-party libraries or packages. Six months were spent researching and developing the software for the app.

    Leena announced the news on social media, and it quickly went viral, with many users congratulating her on her accomplishment. The app has gained popularity due to its novel approach to detecting eye diseases. Hana Rafeeq, Leena's older sister, made headlines a few years ago when she became the youngest iOS developer by creating an app. Apple CEO Tim Cook praised Hana's accomplishment, and her sister Leena has now followed in her footsteps with the creation of Ogler Eyescan.
