Twitter's CEO also shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with an anonymous account on March 26, 2022, in which the latter requested that the bird logo be changed to "doge." Musk commented on the post on Twitter, "As promised."
Digital Desk: The iconic blue bird logo, which has acted as a home button on the web version of the microblogging site, has been replaced by the "doge" meme of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency by Twitter CEO Elon Musk once more.
On Monday, Twitter users discovered the "doge" meme, which is a component of the Dogecoin blockchain and cryptocurrency logo and was made as a joke in 2013.
The Shiba Inu-faced "doge" meme, which Musk also shared on his account, depicts him in the automobile advising the policeman who appears to be looking at his driver's licence that his picture has been changed.
Notably, no changes were made to Twitter's mobile app. It is worth noting that the doge image (of a Shiba Inu) is well-known as the logo of the Dogecoin blockchain and cryptocurrency, which was created in 2013 as a joke to mock other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, according to Variety. Twitter's CEO also shared a screenshot of a conversation he had with an anonymous account on March 26, 2022, in which the latter requested that the bird logo be changed to "doge." Musk commented on the post on Twitter, "As promised."
According to Variety, Musk, who purchased Twitter in a USD 44 billion deal last fall, is a well-known superfan of the Doge meme and has promoted Dogecoin on Twitter and during his appearance last year hosting "Saturday Night Live." Dogecoin's value increased by more than 20% after Twitter's web logo was changed on Monday. Musk tweeted in March 2022, before launching his ultimately successful bid to acquire Twitter "Failure to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy, given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square. What steps should be taken?" Musk sent out a tweet.
"Just buy Twitter... and change the bird logo to a doge," WSBChairman replied. "Haha that would sickkk," Musk replied.
He also posted another photo with the caption, "Seize the Memes of Production."
Musk's love for 'doge' was evident earlier this month, when he posted a photograph of the Dogecoin blockchain and cryptocurrency logo, posing as the CEO, on his account with the caption, "The new CEO of Twitter is amazing."
