    Try Diabetes-friendly dessert recipes for Kids this Christmas Festive season

    Digital Desk: Christmas is hardly a few days away, so now is the time to plan a great cuisine for your Christmas party that your children and friends will enjoy. 

    Kids, in particular, are imaginative, and one can create some fascinating Christmas-themed meals that also appear visually appealing to develop their creativity and engage them in a useful activity. 

    This Christmas, children with diabetes do not have to forego dessert because there are numerous recipes that employ natural sweeteners as ingredients and taste just as nice. Make good use of fruits, dry fruits, and dates to give natural sweetness to these Christmas treats.

    Try these three simple diabetic kid meals that you can make at home by Chef Jerson Fernandes, Director of Culinary at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach:

     1| Strawberry Santa Canapés- Ingrdients to be used to make Santa Canapés-Strawberries, Feta cheese, Dill, crushed Black pepper. 

    Steps to make Strawberry Santa Canapés-



    Make use of fresh strawberries. Wash them and cut them in half diagonally to get two halves. Combine feta cheese, dill, and crushed black pepper in a mixing bowl. Pipe the same mixture onto the cut strawberry base and cover with the other half. Serve chilled with multi grain dark chocolate cookies or other healthy whole wheat/multi grain cookies.

    2| X-Mas Tree shaped out from WaterMelon- Ingrdients used; Watermelon, Whipped Cream, Choco-chips/dry fruits/sparkles.



    Steps to make WaterMelon X'mas Tree- Use raw watermelon, cut it into miniature Christmas tree forms with a mould, pipe whipped cream on top, and sprinkle with Choco chips, dry fruits, or sparkles as desired. Chill for 15 minutes and serve cold.

    3| Christmas brownie trees- Ingrdients used; Chocolate Brownie, Whipped cream, Choco-chips/dry fruits/sparkles.



    Steps to make Christmas brownie trees- Make some chocolate brownies. Cut them into miniature Christmas tree shapes with a knife or a mould, then pour green whipped cream on top and sprinkle with Choco chips, dry fruits, or sparkles as desired. Chill for 15 minutes before serving.
