Every year on November 1, the entire globe observes World Vegan Day to honour the vegan lifestyle and its development.

World Vegan Day has a very impressionable history. But the movement that supports it has been around for a while. It's a terrific chance to raise awareness of the vegan lifestyle and diet by observing the day.

When did the first Vegan Day was introduced?

The first World Vegan Day was observed in England in 1994. Louise Wallis, an animal rights campaigner, was the Vegan Society's president at the time. She wanted an appropriate location to commemorate the Society's 50th anniversary.

Wallis wanted to draw attention to the continuous presence of a vegan association and the fact that the word "vegan" has spread across the English language.

Wallis intended to prevent the day from conflicting with Mexican Day of the Dead and Halloween (on October 31). (November 2).

Wallis chose November 1 as the date for World Vegan Day despite not being certain of the exact day the Society was founded. Since then, the day has served as a platform for vegans all around the world to celebrate and promote veganism.

This year will mark the 28th World Vegan Day.

What is the importance of the day?

Vegans use this occasion to highlight how veganism is a healthy lifestyle that is simple to adopt for the average person. Several social media and advocacy platforms have recently highlighted the health and environmental benefits of a vegan diet.
