    According to SP Manoj Ratan Chothe, the accident occurred when a bus travelling from Giridih district to Ranchi crashed through a bridge's railing and landed in a dry region of the Siwanne River near the Tatijharia Police Station.


    Digital Desk: At least seven people died and 12 were injured when a bus fell into a river in the Hazaribag area of Jharkhand. On Saturday, when the event happened, there were more than 50 passengers riding the bus.

    "There have been 7 fatalities and 12 injuries. All of the travellers have been saved. Minor injury victims have been discharged from the hospital "said Manoj Ratan, the chief of police.

    According to SP Manoj Ratan Chothe, the accident occurred when a bus travelling from Giridih district to Ranchi crashed through a bridge's railing and landed in a dry region of the Siwanne River near the Tatijharia Police Station.

    "Four other passengers were pronounced dead by medical staff at Sadar Hospital in Hazaribag, while two passengers passed away instantly. Given that several people have critical injuries, the death toll could rise. We are getting ready to transfer them to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for better care "said Manoj Ratan Chothe.

    Taking to Twitter, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, "I am saddened by the death of passengers due to the bus falling from the bridge in Tatijharia. May God give peace to the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this sad time. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out by the district administration. I wish the injured a speedy recovery."



    Moreover, Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta also tweeted and said, "I have directed Civil Surgeon Hazaribag to make arrangements for better treatment of the injured."



    "Anguished by the loss of lives in the bus accident in Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. Praying that the injured recover soon," PM Modi said.
