Chandrayaan-3 set to land on moon on August 23 around 6:04 pm: ISRO
The Chandrayaan-3 mission's timeline has successfully unfolded with accuracy and success, culminating in a historic lunar touchdown.

Digital Desk: The Chandrayaan-3 mission is set to achieve a soft landing on the surface of the moon on August 23 at around 18:04 hours, and the nation can watch it live on various platforms. This will bring India's lunar mission closer to success as it achieves a great milestone.

According to ISRO, this accomplishment would represent our country's advancement in space exploration and represent a huge step forward for Indian Science, Engineering, Technology, and Industry.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission's timeline has successfully unfolded with accuracy and success, culminating in a historic lunar touchdown. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has offered a comprehensive assessment of the mission's major accomplishments:

Chandrayaan-3's launch date, which was originally set for July 6 but was later confirmed on July 14, will take place from Sriharikota's second launch pad. The mission got off to a solid start on July 7, when vehicle electrical testing was successfully completed.

On July 11, a crucial milestone was reached with the completion of a lengthy 24-hour "Launch Rehearsal" that meticulously simulated the whole launch procedure. Chandrayaan-3 was launched into its intended orbit on July 14 by the LVM3 M4 spacecraft, beginning an amazing journey.

A series of expertly executed orbit-raising maneuvers were performed to continue the journey. The spacecraft was launched into a 41762 km x 173 km orbit on July 15 thanks to the first of these maneuvres. Chandrayaan-3's orbit was modified by additional maneuvers on July 17 and July 22 to be 41603 km x 226 km and 71351 km x 233 km, respectively.

Significant events occurred in August. Chandrayaan-3 was carefully positioned into a 288 km x 369328 km translunar orbit on the first day of the month. On August 5, a significant accomplishment was made when the 164 km x 18074 km spacecraft was successfully sent into lunar orbit.

The lunar orbit's size was changed on August 6 to 170 km by 4,313 km as part of further fine-tuning. The spacecraft was relocated to a lower lunar orbit on August 9 through skillful maneuvring by ISRO, resulting in dimensions of 174 km x 1437 km.

Chandrayaan-3 gradually drew nearer to the moon's surface as the mission neared its zenith, eventually attaining an orbit of 150 km x 177 km on August 14. The spacecraft carried out its fifth and last Moon-bound maneuver on August 16, resulting in a roughly elliptical lunar orbit of 163 km x 153 km.

The moment the landing module, which contained the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover, separated from its propulsion system on August 17 came after much anticipation. The orbit of Chandrayaan-3 was reduced to 113 km by 157 km the following day through a successful "deboosting" procedure.

After all of this work, Chandrayaan-3 reached its last milestone on August 20. The Lander Module's orbit was successfully decreased to an astounding 25 km by 134 km as a result of the second "deboosting" operation, which was carried out with great success.
