Class 8 boy applies sindoor on class 6 girl at knifepoint

“The boys scaled the boundary wall of the girl’s house. One of them put a knife on the girl’s throat and applied vermilion on her forehead,” Rai said.

Digital Desk: In a bizarre incident that reminds of a scene from a C-grade Bollywood film, a Class 8 student barged into the house of a Class 6 girl and applied 'sindoor' (vermilion) on her forehead after putting a knife on her throat in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening. Following a complaint from the father of the 14-year-old girl, the police detained the 16-year-old boy.

Station house officer of Maharajganj Ravi Kumar Rai, as per the TOI report, said the boy along with a friend, reached the house of the girl when she was sweeping the floor.

“The boys scaled the boundary wall of the girl’s house. One of them put a knife on the girl’s throat and applied vermilion on her forehead,” Rai said.

The girl then began to cry for assistance, but the boys were able to flee before anyone could arrive. The girl told her story to her father, who is a driver, when he got home from work, according to the SHO.

According to TOI, the girl's father subsequently filed a FIR against the teenagers under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, 2012, accusing them of outraging modesty, threatening, and voyeurism.

Police identified the boys who had arrived at the girl's house on a motorcycle after reviewing the CCTV footage. "Subsequently, a police team located the youngster and took him into custody. The boy has been kept in a juvenile home and was presented before a child welfare committee, according to Rai, whose father owns a shoe store.

Rai added that when questioned, the youngster expressed no remorse for what he had done and claimed to have fallen in love with the girl and wanted to wed her.

According to the police complaint, the teenager had been stalking the girl and making romantic advances to her for the previous three months. The girl's parents transferred their daughter to a different school after learning about the harassment, but they chose not to report the boy to the police because of social stigma, according to TOI.
