The session is expected to feature controversial talks between the ruling AAP and the opposition BJP about the recent floods in Delhi, as well as the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which was passed by Rajya Sabha on Monday.
Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP-led Union government of attempting to "usurp" power through the backdoor. The supremo of the Aam Aadmi Party dubbed it a "black day" for India's democracy.
In response to the bill's discussion in Rajya Sabha on Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Delhi parliament is the only parliament in the country that does not adjourn and has only convened for the Budget session from 2020 to 2023.
