Digital Desk: Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge expressed his gratitude and said he was "deeply touched" during his speech at the book launch on Wednesday, which marked his 50 years in electoral politics.
Sukhadeo Thorat and Chetan Sinha had edited the book.
"I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has written about me in this book. I am incredibly moved by the messages you have all sent. Speaking at the event on Wednesday, Kharge said, "I have been able to contribute to the people of my constituency, my state, and my country because of the faith shown in me by the voters and my party leaders."
In his very first term as an MLA, the Congress president said that he was offered the chance to serve as a minister.
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi praised Kharge for being a wise friend and a personal pillar of strength, stating that he has always been cooperative and agreeable.
Sonia aimed at the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating, "He leads the Congress party at a pivotal moment today." All the institutions, frameworks, and values that have allowed India to prosper since our freedom are being undermined by individuals in positions of authority. The most qualified person to lead the Congress party is Mallikarjun Kharge since he is a capable organisational leader in our opinion."
The book is named 'Mallikarjun Kharge: Political Engagement with Compassion, Justice, and Inclusive Development.' Sonia Gandhi, Ram Nath Kovind, Manmohan Singh, M Venkaiah Naidu, Rahul Gandhi, and Sharad Pawar are among the political leaders who have contributed to the book's chapters.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Bora, Opposition Leader Debarata Shaikia, and MLA Zakir Hussain Shikdar attended the book launch.
