Rakesh Tikait says, "Murderer Of Farmers A Terrorist"

Lucknow: The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait attacked Union Minister Ajay Mishra with his remarks upon the death of farmers in the Lakhimpur incident.

Rakesh Tikait compared Minister Mishra with a "terrorist" and asked for his arrest in connection with the death of four farmers in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

The farm leader also questioned the proposed inauguration of a sugar mill in Lakhimpur Kheri by the minister. Tikait stated that farmers wouldn't take their sugarcane to the mill if the minister turned up there.

"Farmers will take the sugarcane to the district magistrate office, no matter how much losses they incur," Tikait added.

While addressing the 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' Lucknow, the farm leader said the minister's arrest is one of their main pending issues with the Central government.

BKU leader stated efforts are being executed to present the minister as a "hero" from a "qatil" (murderer).

"If terrorists from Kashmir can be lodged in the Agra jail, then the murderer of farmers is also a terrorist. He too should go to the Agra jail," leader Tikait stated.

The violence of Lakhimpur Kheri had erupted on October 3. So, farmers were protesting the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to Mishra's native place.

A vehicle allegedly carrying BJP workers ran over four protesting farmers. Four others, including a journalist and two BJP workers, were also killed in the violence.

Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra has been alleged as one of the prime accused in the case.
