    Agnipath Protests: Section 144 imposed in Gurugram
    Trains were set on fire in a number of railway stations in Bihar. More than a hundred young men stormed the Buxar railway station in Bihar and squatted on the rails. 

    Digital Desk: Gurugram authorities imposed Section 144 in the district after protests against the Agnipath scheme reached the National Capital Region (NCR).

    To prevent any untoward incidents, the authorities have put a restriction on gatherings of four or more people.

    The Gurugram DM's directive indicated that those who violated the order would face severe consequences.


    The number of police officers stationed at significant crossroads in the city has increased.

    Notably, as the protests grew more violent, the Delhi Metro authorities shut down some metro stations in the national capital.

    Following a protest in Delhi by the All India Students' Association against the Agnipath scheme, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) temporarily closed some gates at ITO station, Dhansa Bus Stand Metro station, and Jama Masjid Metro station. The gates were later reopened for commuters.

    The reason behind the protest against the Agnipath scheme:

    Army aspirants took to the streets in numerous towns across Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to protest the Centre's Agnipath army recruiting scheme, citing concerns over pensions and security after four years.

    On Friday, nationwide protests against the scheme continued in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. The demonstrators are mostly young people who are expressing their discontent.

    Notably, trains were cancelled or delayed in numerous regions of the country as protesters targeted railway lines. Trains were set on fire in a number of railway stations in Bihar. More than a hundred young men stormed the Buxar railway station in Bihar and squatted on the rails.
