    EAM S. Jaishankar To Attend Trump's Swearing-In Ceremony

    Digital Desk: External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump on January 20. Donald Trump is set to become the 47th President of the United States. Trump will take the oath with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts in Washington D.C. JD Vance's swearing-in ceremony as Vice President will also take place the same day before Trump's ceremony.


    EAM Jaishankar was invited by the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee to be a part of the grand ceremony. He is expected to communicate with the members of the incoming administration and other visiting dignitaries from different parts of the world.


    In a press note, MEA said, "On the invitation of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the Swearing-In Ceremony of President-elect Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States
    of America."


    This will be the beginning of Donald Trump's second term as US president and he will replace President Joe Biden of the Democratic Party as the 47th President of the United States.


    Sparking debates last month, Trump revealed his invitation to several world leaders including Chinese President Xi Jinping to his oath-taking ceremony in Washington D.C. Although, Trump pledged to impose heavy tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico throughout his campaign as Presidential Polls candidate.


    According to reports, Trump might visit India as a US President to attend the Quad Leaders' Summit later this year.
