Digital Desk: The front section of a Vande Bharat Superfast
Express was damaged after colliding with a herd of buffaloes in Gujarat this
morning, just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the semi-high-speed train.
The train was traveling from Mumbai to Gandhinagar when the
incident occurred between Batwa and Maninagar, just ahead of Ahmedabad.
A herd of buffalo collided with the train, causing damage to its
nose (the front part). However, no part of the train's functionality was
harmed.
Within eight minutes, the train was back on track and on time
for its destination, Gandhinagar.
Last month, PM Modi flagged off the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande
Bharat Express semi-high-speed train and rode it from Gandhinagar to Kalupur
railway station in Ahmedabad.
The Kavach (train collision avoidance system) safety system
is installed on the train.
