PM Modi: States and UTs must contribute to making India a 5-trillion dollar economy

PM Modi said it's important for India to become a five trillion-dollar economy.

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the national conference of Chief Secretaries, which ended on Friday, that each state must recognize its strengths, set its goals, and devise a plan to accomplish them. It's a dire situation for India to become a $5 trillion economy.

PM Modi states, "Future development and job creation will rely heavily on urban regions. As a result, urban local governments must be reinforced, and urban planning must be done creatively."

Young district collectors, magistrates from States and Union Territories, and officials from Union Ministries attended the meeting, which the Prime Minister led.

The Prime Minister praised the lengthy meetings, saying they helped sketch a roadmap for the various sectors. He stated that the action items and new ideas addressed during the conference must be implemented as soon as possible. He also emphasized the importance of the Centre and States working together as a 'Team India.'

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of ensuring better ease of living in India by highlighting minimum government and maximum governance.

He also stated that minor offenses should be decriminalized in mission mode. He also discussed using drones in the service business, such as for delivering critical pharmaceuticals or horticulture supplies, particularly in hilly areas, which would provide farmers and service providers with additional economic value.

The Prime Minister demanded that all vacancies in State Government departments be filled and that the States identify such openings in each area and fill them.

"To meet the aims of the National Education Policy, states must endeavor to combine Anganwadis with primary schools," he added.

While emphasizing the importance of bettering the use of technology in all government schemes and programs to create interoperability of the Centre's and States' datasets, the Prime Minister also stated that PM-GatiShakti should be done well to attract investment.
