Punjab: 6-Year-Old Minor Falls into 300-ft Deep Borewell, Rescue Ops On

After nine hours, a six-year-old boy from Punjab was rescued from a 300-foot-deep borewell.

Digital Desk: On Sunday, a six-year-old boy reportedly fell into a 300 feet deep bore well in Gadriwala village in Hoshiarpur in Punjab. The rescue operations are underway.

The minor is identified as Rithik Roshan, and he is the son of a migrant laborer.

According to reports, an army team has been called to assist with the rescue operation. Moreover, a JCB machine has been sent to dig a tunnel leading to the borewell.

Reports further claimed that the machine could barely dig 15 feet in one and a half hours, and Rithik is said to be stranded in the borewell at around 95 feet.

The incident took place at around 9 am when he was playing in a field shaft and was chased by stray dogs. A jute bag covering the borewell shaft could not support the weight of Rithik and gave in, causing him to fall into the well.

It may be mentioned that a National Disaster Response Force team has been called in, said officials.

Moreover, medical teams have also been deployed, and Oxygen has been provided to the six-year minor to keep his condition stable.

Notably, the officials have put a camera inside the borewell to monitor the boy's condition.

It is to be noted that the Punjab Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann said he is in constant touch with the district administration.
