    Arunachal Pradesh BJP unveils 60 assembly poll candidates, excludes 15 sitting MLAs including 3 ministers

    Digital desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its nominees for all 60 Arunachal Pradesh assembly seats on Wednesday. The nomination of sixteen new candidates. The candidates list included three Congress MLAs who recently switched to the BJP. In addition, the party put out four female nominees, one of whom is a new face. 

    The party refused tickets to Home Minister Bamang Felix (Nyapin seat), Industries Minister Tumke Bagra (Aalo West), and Agriculture Minister Tage Taki (Ziro-Hapoli). The BJP last week announced that Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Arunachal West and Arunachal East constituencies respectively.

    The northeastern state will hold both the Lok Sabha and assembly elections at the same time. Among those who were denied party tickets were sitting BJP MLAs Laisam Simai (Nampong), Kento Rina (Nari-Koyu), Tsering Tashi (Tawang), and Lokam Tasar (Koloriang). 

    The female parliamentarians Gum Tayeng (Dambuk) and Jumum Ete Deori (Lekang) were among those who didn't get the ticket. Nyabi Jini Dirchi (Basar) is a fresh face to the BJP's list of four female candidates; the other three are Tsering Lhamu (Lumla), Dasanglu Pul (Hayuliang), and Chakat Aboh (Khonsa West). 

    Nominations were made for three Congress MLAs who recently joined the saffron camp. They are Wangling Lowangdong (Borduria-Bogapani), Lombo Tayeng (Mebo), and Ninong Ering (Pasighat West).
