    Digital Desk: A significant political shift occurred in Mizoram as Lalduhoma, the leader of the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), was sworn in as the new Chief Minister on Dec 8, 2023. 

    This event marked a major departure from the Congress party and the Mizo National Front's (MNF) long-standing domination in state governance. 

    In 2019, the ZPM, which had just been officially recognized as a political party four years earlier, won an incredible 27 of the 40 seats in the Mizoram Assembly elections.
