Digital Desk: Security forces in Manipur arrested three members from Arambai Tenggol for extortion-related offenses at Imphal West district according to official police statements on Sunday. The security forces captured Thangjam George Singh (28) and his associates Abujam Narendra Singh (21) and Wahengbam Amarjit Singh (35) from Keithelmanbi on Saturday. They were accused of issuing fake challans to commercial drivers using the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway because they extracted payments from them.
The authorities seized nine rolls of paper and two handheld wireless sets along with other such equipment that the men used for extortion purposes when they arrested them. Leisangthem Rajesh Singh belonging to the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Taibanganba) received arrest in Kakching district for his roles as an extorter and recruiter and kidnapper.
