Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Monday that the BJP is preparing for the Lok Sabha elections next year, with a focus on constituencies where incumbent MPs are from other parties.
Further, CM Sarma stated that during the day, a meeting of the BJP's in-charge of such Lok Sabha constituencies in the North East was conducted and that it would continue on Tuesday.
After a closed-door meeting with the 'vistaraks' CM Sarma said to the media, "This meeting is of nine constituencies of North East. This will go on until tomorrow. I had been asked to address them on two matters, which I did." However, he did not explain the issues that he discussed during the meeting.

Sarma stated that the constituencies picked are ones in which the BJP does not have a sitting MP and the incumbents are from Congress.
"These constituencies require more attention. Jansampark (public relations) and Jan sabhas (rallies) are taking place in such seats across the country," CM Sarma said.
Representatives from Assam's three Lok Sabha constituencies — Nagaon, Kaliabor, and Barpeta — attended the meeting. CM Sarma stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's planned visit to Hojai within the Nagaon constituency is currently scheduled for June 29.
He added that as the date overlaps with the Eid celebration, there may be a few changes in the schedule.
Shah's visit to Hojai is part of the BJP's strategy to reach out to constituencies that the party failed to win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
