    Goa Elections: winning candidates received an average of 41% of the total casted votes

    As per the ADRs statement, ten winners won with fewer than 1000 votes, and four won with a margin of victory greater than 30%.


    Digital Desk: Candidates who won the Goa State Assembly elections received an average of 41% of the total votes cast, according to the poll rights organization Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).


    ADR and Goa Election Watch examined the vote share for Goa's 40 constituencies in the 2022 Assembly Elections.


    The ADR reported in a new report that voter turnout for the Goa Assembly election in 2022 was 82%, compared to 83% in 2017.


    According to the ADR, the winners of the Goa State Assembly elections in 2022 received an average of 41% of the total votes cast. According to the ADR, eight (20%) winners received 50% or more of the total votes cast in their constituency, while 32 (80%) winners received less than 50% of the total votes cast in their constituency.


    According to the report, four (25%) of the 16 winners with decreed criminal cases won with a vote share of 50% or higher, and eight (21%) of the 39 crorepati winners won with a vote share of 50% or higher.


    All of the Goa State Assembly Elections winners in 2022 received an average of 34% of all registered voters. This means that the winners represent 34% of the total electorate.


    In the 2017 Goa State Assembly Elections, candidates received 39% of the total registered votes cast.


    Among the major parties, 10 (50%) of the BJP's 20 winners received less than 35% of the total registered voters in the constituency.


    Six (55%) of the 11 winners were from the Congress; one (50%) of the two winners were from the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak; one (100%) winner was from the Revolutionary Goans Party; two (100%) winners were from the AAP, and three (100%) Independent winners were elected with less than 35% of the total registered voters in the constituency.


    According to the ADR, ten winners won with a margin of fewer than 1000 votes, and four won with a margin of victory greater than 30%. Twelve of the sixteen winners with declared criminal cases have triumphed over a runner-up with a clean record.


    Five of the 12 winners had a margin of victory greater than 10%.


    Digambar Kamat (Congress) won the Margao Constituency with a 34% margin of victory.


    One of the 39 crorepati winners defeated a non-crorepati runner-up, and Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane (BJP) of the Valpoi constituency won with a 30% margin of victory.


    Three of the 40 winners are women, and one of them won with a margin of victory greater than 45 percent. Deviya Vishwajit Rane (BJP) from the Poriem constituency won the highest vote share of 61 percent in her constituency. She won with a 48% margin of victory.


    None of the 17 re-elected winners have received less than 29% of the vote in their respective constituencies. Four (24% of the vote) have won with more than 50%.


    According to the ADR, 11 (65%) re-elected winners won by less than a 10% margin of victory, while three won by more than a 30% margin of victory.


    NOTA received 10,629 (1.12%) of the 9,50,445 votes cast in the Goa assembly elections in 2022.


    The BJP won the recent Goa elections.
