Digital Desk: The Assam Government has decided to award scooters to deserving female students who earned more than 60% in the just-completed Higher Secondary exam. For boys, however, the cutoff is 75 percent or higher.
This was one among several significant decisions taken on Wednesday in Guwahati during the cabinet meeting presided over by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

3.78 lakh bicycles worth Rs 167 crore will be distributed to Class 9 pupils enrolled in government and provincialized schools.
Extending the advantages of Orunodoi
7 lakh extra people would be covered by the Orunodol programme and will receive 1 250 each month beginning on September 10, 2023.

Proper representation of underdeveloped communities
* An increase in the percentage of seats reserved for OBCs and MORE OBCs in professional programmes at Assam Agricultural University, from 15% to 27%
* Seats for OBC/MOBC communities have been reserved based on community, namely the Tea Tribe. In light of the increase in reservation for OBCS/MOBCS in professional courses under AAU beginning with the academic year 2023–2024, Moran, Matak, Tai-Ahom, Chutia, and Koch Rajbongshi

Reservation of seats
Seats are reserved for six villages, including Tai Ahom. Chutia. Within the 27% OBC/MOBC reservation, the Moran, Matak, Koch Rajbongshi, and Tea Tribes are enrolled in BSc/GNM/ANM training courses at 24 gov't GNM training schools, 18 gov't ANM training schools, and 3 gov't BSc nursing schools.

* Approval of the Assam Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Facilitation of Establishment & Operation) Rules, 2023 * MSMEs will be exempt from certain approvals and inspections that are necessary for establishment and operation in the State for three years under the proposed Rules.
* As an alternative, an MSME in Assam may now begin operations after receiving a 'Acknowledgement Certificate' from the State nodal agency by submitting the 'Declaration of Intent'.

* Approval of replacement School Management Committee (SMC) members in accordance with RTE Act, 2009 and The Right to Children for Free and Compulsory Education Rule, 2011, as revised in 2017 * The SMCS will therefore officially welcome the following members:
1) One elected representative from Panchayati Raj Institutions, Village Council Development Committees (in the case of 6th Scheduled Areas), and Urban Local from the vicinity of the school
2) A teacher at the school, chosen from its staff
3) The school's alumni association is required to put forward two candidates.
