    Assam-Mizoram Border Dispute Escalates: Case filed against Assam CM and 6 other officials

    Aizawl: With each passing day, the tension brewing between Assam and Mizoram continues to escalate with each side filing cases against each other. In a latest attack from the Mizoram side, Mizoram Police booked Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on charged of attempt to murder and criminal conspiracy over the recent clashes at the interstate border on July 26. The Case filed also contains name of four senior Assam police officials and two bureaucrats and 200 other unidentified Assam Police Personnel.





    The case filed by the Mizoram Police inspector dates on July 26 states that the accused have been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Arms Act and Mizoram Containment and Prevention of Covid-19 Act 2020.





    In another complaint, Mizoram Police accused a team of "200 armed" Assam Police Personnel led by its IGP for trying to "forcefully occupy" their police post.
