Digital Desk: A mobile phone robbery racket operating close to the Bura Police outpost Chowki in the Darrang district was successfully tracked down on Tuesday night in a decisive operation by the Crime Branch of the
Assam police and the Darrang police.
During the operation, 18 stolen cell phones were found and a key suspect was apprehended.
During questioning, the suspect who was apprehended, known as Ubedul Islam, supplied significant information that helped identify a different offender who was involved in the illegal activities.
A team from the Hatigaon police traced the specifically identified person, Sahil Hussain, in Guwahati's Hatigaon neighbourhood, where he was detained. Sahil Hussain, who hails from Barpeta is thought to have been a key accused in the plan.
