Digital Desk: Bornali Saikia of Guwahati, who was purportedly held captive in Nigeria, was successfully freed and flown back to India.

Bornali Saikia who by profession is a boxer, went on vacation to Nigeria on October 28 and was allegedly kept against her will by miscreants. Concerns were raised when Bornali failed to communicate for three days.

Bornali managed to contact her family and inform them of her terrible predicament after four days of tense silence. According to her statement, a man named King met her at the Nigerian airport and forcibly removed her visa and passport.

"On October 28, my mother went from Bangalore to Lagos in Nigeria along with my father's acquaintance," Bornali's daughter said in a statement to the media. "Everything seemed great at first, but in the last two days, she has not been given food, and she has been abducted," she added.

Taking a peek at the earlier info, it was informed that Bornali travelled on a 14-day visa on October 28, according to her daughter. The victim's relatives, distraught by the circumstances, filed an FIR at the Dispur Police station. They disclosed that Bornali Saikia's return ticket had been arranged by Swami Nayan Saikia for October 13 at 10:45 PM. However, King stopped Bornali from getting to the airport.
