'Beautiful Vande Mataram rendition': PM enjoys band performance. Watch the video
He was observed wearing traditional clothing and indulging in the performance of the northern band Octave as they sang "Vande Matram."

Digital Desk: The northeastern states of Meghalaya and Tripura, whose elections are scheduled for early next year, were visited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday. One of the highlights of his two-state visit, during which he also immersed himself in northeastern culture, was projects worth 6,800 crore.

He was observed wearing traditional clothing and indulging in the performance of the northern band Octave as they sang "Vande Matram." Along with PM Modi on his YouTube account, other BJP officials also posted the performance's footage on social media.

"The Northeast's Octave Band performed Vande Mataram in a stunning way!" - reads the clip's title on the Prime Minister's YouTube channel, which is almost three minutes long. Eight northeastern states, including Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, and Sikkim, are associated with the name Octave.
The BJP leaders Sambit Patra, Purnesh Modi, and Dr. KK Laxman posted the performance video, among others.

Across the meantime, the BJP has sounded the vote horn in the two states in anticipation of PM Modi's Sunday visit. Along with the National People's Party, the party is a component of the government in Meghalaya and also has power in Tripura. Both states are intended to be kept for consecutive terms.

In his speech in Tripura, Prime Minister Modi stated that by connecting India, Myanmar, and Thailand via roads, "the northeast is developing its connection and linkages."

His visit was also intended to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the North East Council (NEC), the focal point for the region's social and economic development. The government has changed from "look east" and "act east" to "act swiftly for the Northeast" and "act first for the Northeast," Prime Minister Modi remarked in response to the significant event.
