    Former NDFB leader demands release of Ranjan Daimary

    Kokrajhar: Former National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) leader Abhiram Basumatary accused the Government of relocating NDFB head Ranjan Daimary from Guwahati Central jail to a small room at the 10th APBN camp in Kahilipara at Guwahati. Basumatary also demanded the release of its head as soon as possible.





    Rebuking about the Assam government’s act, Basumatary claimed, “The Assam government has relocated our head Ranjan Daimary from Guwahati Central Jail to a small room at the 10th ABPN camp in Kahilipara at Guwahati.”





    “Earlier, the government said that Ranjan Daimary will be sent for house arrest but that never happened.” added Basumatary.





    Ranjan Daimary, amongst the other nine, accused was the key conspirator behind the October 30, 2008, Assam serial bomb blast that took more than 100 lives and seriously injured more than 400 people.





    Ranjan, with the other nine accused, are serving a life sentence in connection with the incident. Another acquisition’s against Ranjan ranges from Kidnapping to killings and extortion.





    Notably, Daimary and the other nine accused have filed an appeal against the conviction order in the Gauhati High Court along with a bail plea.
