Digital Desk: Assam police, in a joint operation with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), arrested a most wanted militant in the Hojai district of Assam. The militant involved in the 2021 ambush attack on an army convoy in Manipur is a cadre of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The arrested militant will be interrogated by the NIA and Assam police on the 2021 ambush case in Manipur. NIA took over the case following the request made by then Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh.

The commanding officer of 46 Assam Rifles Colonel Viplab Tripathi, his wife, son, and four soldiers were returning from a forward camp when the convoy was attacked.
