    Assam Police Arrests Most Wanted PLA Cadre In Hojai District

    The deadliest ambush attack occurred at 11 am on November 13, 2021, near the Myanmar border in Manipur's Churachandpur district, leaving seven people dead. 


    Digital Desk: Assam police, in a joint operation with the National Investigation Agency (NIA), arrested a most wanted militant in the Hojai district of Assam. The militant involved in the 2021 ambush attack on an army convoy in Manipur is a cadre of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The arrested militant will be interrogated by the NIA and Assam police on the 2021 ambush case in Manipur. NIA took over the case following the request made by then Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh.


    The deadliest ambush attack occurred at 11 am on November 13, 2021, near the Myanmar border in Manipur's Churachandpur district, leaving seven people dead. The commanding officer of 46 Assam Rifles Colonel Viplab Tripathi, his wife, son, and four soldiers were returning from a forward camp when the convoy was attacked.


    According to reports, at least 10 militants of the Manipur-based terror group were involved in the deadly attack.


    Another militant of the Manipur Naga People's Front was arrested in 2022 in relation to the ambush attack.
