After Rohit Sharma and fellow opener Shubman Gill got off to a flying start with the bat in the semi-final matchup against New Zealand, Virat Kohli easily reached his 50th ODI century, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will travel to Gujarat to watch the highly anticipated ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 final match between Australia and India at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.

The chief minister will convey to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his squad the warmest wishes of all 3.5 crore Assamese people.

    Schedule Schedule

Sunday, November 19: Australia vs. India in the Final

Replicating the 2003 Johannesburg final in which Australia prevailed by 125 runs, the two contests will take place in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium in front of more than 100,000 spectators who will be witnessing history.

    How each squad was qualified

India won all nine of their matches, easily leading them to the top spot in the group stage with a maximum of 18 points. India led the group stage by a wide margin with a net run rate of 2.570.

After Rohit Sharma and fellow opener Shubman Gill got off to a flying start with the bat in the semi-final matchup against New Zealand, Virat Kohli easily reached his 50th ODI century, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Despite scoring an impressive 397, New Zealand was 70 runs short despite some relief provided by a century from Daryl Mitchell.

Australia was in the last position in the standings after losing its first two games against South Africa and India. However, they won the next seven games to qualify with 14 points.

When they faced South Africa again in the semi-finals, Pat Cummins' team was marginally underdog, but they got off to a strong start, keeping the South Africans to 24/4. Though Cummins and Mitchell Starc would raise their bats in triumph and cling on for a nail-biting three-wicket victory, David Miller's century gave the Proteas hope.
