ODI World Cup 2023: Do you think Pakistan will boycott the ODI WC in India? Pakistan's PCB Chief Najam Sethi speaks out
India visiting Pak will be the first time in 13 years. After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, both countries ceased playing bilateral series...

Digital Desk: Najam Sethi, the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), discusses Pakistan's strategy for the 2018 ODI World Cup, which will be held in India. Earlier, Pakistan vowed to boycott the World Cup since India refused to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, which is set to take place before the World Cup.

This came to light when BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah declared that Team India will not travel to Pakistan to compete in the Asia Cup.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi claimed that the Pakistan cricket squad is dependent on the government and that the World Cup is determined by the government rather than the cricket board.

"We will not go to India if the government tells us not to. Let us be clear about Pakistan and India's cricket relations. "Decisions on whether to tour or not tour are always made at the government level," Sethi said at a press briefing in Karachi.

"These are decisions that can only be made by the government; the PCB can only seek clarity," he continued.

Sethi further mentioned that he will be in contact with the ACC. "I will observe what the situation is and then go forward. We must ensure that we are not alone in any decision we make."

If India visits Pakistan, it will be the first tour in 13 years. Both countries ceased playing bilateral series after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
