ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Ind vs Pak WC Semis yet to be finalized, Guwahati, Hyderabad to host the warm-up games
The ICC and BCCI had already turned down Pakistan's request to move their match against India...

Digital Desk: The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 schedule finally came out on Tuesday. The competition will start on October 5 in Ahmedabad, and the championship game will also take place there on November 19—both at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

It is to be mentioned that the tournament's semifinal matches are slated to take place in Mumbai and Kolkata. If India makes it to the knockout rounds, they will play their semifinal in Mumbai, but if they face Pakistan, their bitter rivals, the location will be changed.

The top-finishing team from the league round will play the fourth-placed team in Mumbai in the semi-finals, according to the constitution of the competition. In Kolkata, the second-and third-placed teams will square off.

However, if India and Pakistan are the top-two teams, the first semifinal will be hosted in Kolkata, while the second semifinal will be staged in Mumbai.

The matches of the tournament will be held at ten different locations, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata.

The warm-up games will be held in Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hyderabad from September 29 to October 3.

Twelve hosting organizations met in Mumbai on Monday to settle the arrangements and finalize the venues before the official announcement on Tuesday.

Pakistan had previously requested that their match against India be moved to either Chennai, Bengaluru, or Kolkata, but the ICC and BCCI denied their request.

This year's World Cup will include ten teams. India qualified immediately as hosts, as did Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa via the 2020-2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Two more teams will qualify for the World Cup through the World Cup Qualifiers, which are presently taking place in Zimbabwe.

The Qualifiers include Ireland, Nepal, the Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, the UAE, the United States, and hosts Zimbabwe, in addition to former champions Sri Lanka and the West Indies.

The ten countries will face each other once in a round battle of 45 matches at the World Cup in India.

The quarterfinals will be followed by the semifinals and final.
