Digital Desk: In the latest update,
ICC has revealed the ranking list where India surpassed Australia in the ICC Men's Test rankings to become the world's No.1 squad ahead of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final in 2023.
Australia held the top spot in the Men's Test Rankings for nearly 15 months, which ceased today.
''Australia's reign at the top of the Men's Test Rankings comes to an end after 15 months, with India passing the Aussies ahead of next month's ICC World Test Championship Final,'' the ICC statement stated.
Based on the statement, previous to the yearly rankings update, Australia was at the top with 122 points, with India trailing by three points (119).
''The annual rankings include all series completed since May 2020, with series completed before May 2022 weighted at 50% and all future series weighted at 100%,'' it stated.
England remains third, but the gap between them and second-placed Australia has shrunk from 13 to two rating points as a result of several solid performances in recent months, as well as lessened weightage of their 4-0 series and 1-0 defeat in the West Indies.
