Digital Desk: Following his team's triumph in the Tests and ODIs against the West Indies, Indian captain Rohit Sharma has triumphantly returned home. He is right now working hard to get ready for the eagerly anticipated Asia Cup 2023. On August 30, host nation Pakistan will play Nepal in the opening match of the Asian championship. On September 2, India will face off against its bitter rivals in Pallekele, kicking off their campaign.
The present T20Is between India and the West Indies have been postponed to give veteran player and team leader Rohit, a well-earned vacation. He has been working out hard during this time to stay in shape, and he frequently posts updates from his workouts to Instagram for his followers.
A video of the Indian captain and his wife Ritika Sajdeh visiting Tirupathi's famed Balaji shrine recently surfaced on Twitter in a wonderful turn of events. In the video, Rohit can be seen waving to the assembled audience while gracefully addressing them from within the temple.

For the 2018 ICC World Cup, which will begin on October 5th, the Asia Cup will be an important practise venue. Unfortunately, veteran player Rohit Sharma, who has competed in two previous World Cups (in 2015 in Australia and 2019 in England), has yet to experience success in this esteemed competition. However, his drive to win the trophy and break India's ICC title drought is apparent and is shared by his teammates as he assumes the position of captain for the first time in this major event.
"It's a dream of mine to win a World Cup, so the fact that I'm here competing for it makes me happier than anything else, to be honest. I've never won a (50 overs) World Cup. World Cups aren't handed out on a silver platter; you have to work really hard for them, and that is what we have been doing since 2011 when we all started competing for it," Rohit had added.
