World Cup 2023 kicks off on October 15, with a fierce face-off between all-time great rivalries India vs Pakistan

Digital Desk: The One-Day International (ODI) World Cup will be held in India towards the end of this year. The start date for this battle, which begins on October 5, will be revealed soon. However, the date of the match, which Indian supporters have been anticipating, has been revealed. 

According to Cricbuzz, the big encounter between India and Pakistan will take place on October 15. At the same moment, England and New Zealand will play their first World Cup encounter. India will face Australia in its opening match at Chepauk. The World Cup semi-finals might be held in Mumbai.

According to the source, the first match of the ODI World Cup 2023 would take place on October 5, 2023 and most probably on this date England and New Zealand may have a Face-off.  The World Cup 2023 final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final match is scheduled for November 19th. 

The World Cup schedule will be revealed following the end of the ongoing IPL 2023 in India. On May 28, the last match of the 16th season of the IPL will be played.

According to media sources, Pakistan has accepted to travel to India for the One-Day International World Cup. Previously, the PCB stated that if India does not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023, they will not travel to India for the World Cup. According to certain reports, the high-voltage encounter between India and Pakistan could be hosted at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. 

However, it has now been revealed that Pakistan has refused to play in Ahmedabad. In such a case, the game can be moved to a different location. Pakistan could play matches in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru reveals the report.

The ODI World Cup 2023 will feature ten teams against each other for the coveted championship. Eight teams have signed up for this. Two more teams will be added following the qualifiers. The tournament will have 48 matches, with each team playing about 9-9 matches. India, England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa have all qualified for the World Cup.

The final two berths will be determined through a qualification tournament in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9. Apart from Sri Lanka and the West Indies, teams from Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Nepal, Scotland, and America will be participating.
