    In the third Test in Rajkot, which India won by a record 434 runs, Jaiswal broke a number of records. In just 55 days, he has already surpassed Virender Sehwag's all-time record.



    Digital Desk: Since making his Test debut against the West Indies in July 2023, Yashasvi Jaiswal has become the talk of the town. The young player lit up the stage in the current Test series against England after smashing 171 on his debut against the Windies. 

     

    In the third Test in Rajkot, which India won by a record 434 runs, Jaiswal broke a number of records. In just 55 days, he has already surpassed Virender Sehwag's all-time record.

     

    Thus far, Jaiswal's 2024 has been noteworthy. So far, he has struck out seven innings with 618 runs scored, including 23 sixes. In just 55 days in 2024, he shattered Sehwag's record for the most sixes hit by an Indian in a calendar year. In 2008, Sehwag struck 22 sixes in 27 innings, while in just 55 days in 2024, Jaiswal has already smashed 23 in nine innings.

    Additionally, Jaiswal is now only the second Indian player under the age of 23 to score over 600 runs in a Test series. Joining him on the elite list are only seven players worldwide, including Sunil Gavaskar, Graeme Smith, Don Bradman, and Garry Sobers.


    On the second day of the test match between India and England at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, Jaiswal scored 73 runs in the opening innings before losing to Shoaib Bashir.
