WhatsApp introduces 'Accidental Delete' feature to protect users from uncomfortable situations

Digital Desk: We've all been in situations when we mistakenly send a message to the wrong group or person and accidentally clicked 'Delete for me' instead of 'Delete for everyone,' placing us in an awkward position. To avoid such unpleasant situations, WhatsApp has introduced the 'Accidental Delete' feature.

Accidental delete is a new feature that will keep you out of trouble in these situations. Now, you'll have a five-second window to reverse the Accidental Delete, and click on "Delete for Everyone."

"We’ve heard from a lot of WhatsApp users that when they want to delete a message, they don’t always hit the right button. So, just in time for the holidays, we’re excited to share a new layer of protection for you on WhatsApp," says WhatsApp.

This new feature gives you a moment to quickly undo a deleted message if you unintentionally select "Delete for myself" but meant to "Delete for everyone".

The Accidental Delete option is available to all Android and iPhone users.
