    Mercedes-AMG will unveil its Vision AMG Electric Concept next week

    Next week, the Vision AMG, the first electric concept car by German performance brand, will be available for pre-view.

    Digital Desk: Mercedes-AMG revealed the name for its first electric concept car. It will be unveiled on May 19. The Vision AMG concept will show Mercedes' ambitions to create electric-only cars with luxury and performance features starting in 2025.

    What's Mercedes Vision AMG?

    Mercedes intends to shift its focus from all-electric performance to the new teaser. The manufacturer has not revealed any details about the powertrain or technical details of its next concept, except that it will be built from scratch. It will be the Vision AMG Concept's signature vehicle when it goes into production in 2025.

    Gordon Wagener, Mercedes designer, uploaded a teaser to social media showing the Vision AMG drawing design inspiration from the long-range Mercedes Benz Vision EQXX concept.

    This idea has pronounced rear haunches and a low-slung bodystyle with a shorter two-door Bodystyle. It also seems to have a more cab-forward position.

    Mercedes plans to go electric

    Mercedes announced plans to launch three electric-only platforms in 2025, and total electrification in 2030 by July 2021.

    The manufacturer revealed that all its EQ vehicles would be available in AMG versions. It also plans to invest more then EUR40 billion (Rs 3.5 crore crore) over the next eight-year period.

    Mercedes-Benz EV voyage in India

    Mercedes-Benz has previously revealed its first all-electric SUV, EQC, in Oct 2021. It is currently researching India to localize its EQ lineup.
