Digital Desk: Every year, many young individuals in the nation aspire to become IASs or IPSs, but it's challenging to achieve this goal because it requires passing India's toughest exam, UPSC. Because of this, even after putting in a lot of effort day and night, very few people can pass this exam.

Among them, there are comparatively fewer individuals who succeed on their first attempt. But if you have the sheer determination of Adarsh Kant Shukla, you can become an IPS on your first attempt even without training.

Adarsh Kant Shukla, a 21-year-old resident of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, cracked the UPSC to become an IPS officer. He is from a quite ordinary family.  When Adarsh joined the IPS, his father, Radha Kant Shukla, was employed as an accountant for a private corporation. His father, too, wanted to be in the government. However, due to the severe financial circumstances of the family, his desire could not come true.

About twenty years ago, Adarsh Kant Shukla's father came to Barabanki from his village. While working here, he lived in a rented room; thereafter, he built his own house. Adarsh's mother is a housewife.

To instruct Adarsh's parents made every effort to provide him with an excellent education. Adarsh's father decided to satiate his desire by appointing his son as an IPS officer after he was unable to fulfil his ambition of becoming an officer.  Adarsh worked hard as well and early on realized that his father wanted him to become an IPS officer.

Academically gifted from a young age, Adarsh Kant Shukla graduated with a B.Sc. from National PG College in Lucknow. He took home the gold in biology. Adarsh's dream job had always been an IPS officer. For this reason, he started preparing for the UPSC only after he got his diploma.

Adarsh initially appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2020. After passing the UPSC on his first attempt and ranking 149th overall in India, he became an IPS. Adarsh gave other young people advice, urging them to take the Civil Services Test in the same way as other tests. The only goal in life shouldn't be to achieve this.
