Digital Desk: Doctors at Prayagraj's Sarojini Naidu Children's Hospital in Uttar Pradesh removed a 2 kilograms foetus from a 7-month-old baby's stomach. The procedure took a four-hour surgery.

The child had foetus in fetu, an extremely rare condition. The infant is currently in good health, according to Dr. D. Kumar, who led the medical team that performed the surgery.

On July 24, the boy's father, a farmer from the Kunda neighbourhood in the Pratapgarh district, brought him to the OPD at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. The baby, according to Dr. Kumar, had a swollen tummy and was in excruciating pain.

Following a preliminary examination, a CT scan of the child's abdomen showed the presence of a foetus. The mother of the kid had passed away shortly after giving birth, the doctor said.
A malformed and parasitic foetus that lives inside the body of its twin is called a "foetus in fetu," which is a common disorder. It happens when one of the twins mistakenly develops inside the body of the other twin while the other twin grows normally in the mother's womb.
